The Best Body Creams Do NOT Contain

No, I didn’t say the most expensive, I said the best body creams. Just because something costs an arm and a leg doesn’t mean it’s the best, well in the skincare world anyway!

What if I told you that some of the ingredients in skincare creams have been banned as carcinogenic in some parts of Europe and the US? Did you know that there are nearly two hundred different ingredients used in skincare products that are actually detrimental to your health? I am going to give you a couple of minutes here to grab your latest lotion or body cream and examine the ingredients.

Are you back? Okay. Let’s start with something simple like:

Alcohol – dries the skin, can cause brown spots and premature aging of the skin
Mineral oil – a petroleum by-product which can cause skin cancer, makes skin dry and irritable and can seal the skin, preventing elimination of toxins.
Fragrance- this is a term that hides a thousand possible carcinogens and is absolutely unnecessary in a body cream or lotion. I’ve seen it listed as “Parfum” – gosh if it’s French it must be okay right? Think again.
Parabens – these are great. They are possible carcinogens and have been linked to breast cancer and endocrine problems and can cause rashes.
Rancid acid emollients – oh ugh! These contain poisonous trans-fatty acids!

And this is only a list of five out of nearly two hundred lousy ingredients!

So are you ready to hear about what body creams I use? A range of products that is 100% natural and tested under stringent conditions from field to package? Yes, these ingredients grow in fields not in a test tube! Her are some of the yummy ingredients –

Avocado, honey and shea butter, all 100% natural – sound delicious don’t they?

What’s the largest organ in the human body? It’s the skin. Whatever you put on your skin is absorbed by the body, plain and simple. So now are you ready to toss those old products and consider something that will actually do your skin and your body good?

My recommendation to you is, if you want to look younger, stay healthier and stop absorbing harmful toxins, try this range of wonderful products. They have the best body creams, face masks, cleansers and also have a range of vitamin and mineral supplements too, and again, they are all natural.

How to Choose Best Women’s Perfume

The reason behind flowering of industries based on the best women’s perfume is that the women are always fascinated by the fragrances. Fragrance has always attracted women from the early time of civilization. In earlier time, fragrances were used in raw directly from flowers, oils and woods.

With the passing time, women’s perfume making had gone through many evolutions and inventions. Now it is the most luxurious and expensive industry in the world. It has classification. Perfume is the most expensive and has the longest lasting effect. Eau-de-parfum has less oil content but high staying capacity. Eau-de-toilette is best for office use. Eau-de-cologne is the most inexpensive of the lot and weakest also.

Categories

Women’s perfume can be categorized by fresh, floral, natural, fruity, spicy, citrus, oriental, musky, woody and sporty fragrance.

Before buying the best women’s perfume, one needs to pay attention on the personality and preferences of the woman. This is very important as there is no woman on this earth who will like to wear a perfume which is nasty or loud according to her nose and senses.

Forms of fragrances

Perfumes for women are available in bottles as perfume spray, roll-on and dab-on style. Apart from this, soaps and other skin care products are also available with perfume in it, which provides stronger and longer perfume stay. Aroma and essential oils are other forms by which one can use perfumes for healing and other purposes.

Right way to apply perfume

Women’s perfumes require proper way of application for fragrance to come out. It should be applied to the skin and pulse points. It should be given time to dry without rubbing. This hampers the perfume. Do not use near face and behind the ears. Do not apply on clothes and jewelry. They may get discolored and stained. Always use perfume before dressing and let it dry completely before wearing the clothes.

Best Practices for Applying Perfume

Perfume can smell gorgeous and enhance the appearance. But a strong fragrance can be irritating and overbearing for some. A strong smell can have a negative influence on those allergic to certain fragrances or asthmatic. Here are several of the best practices for applying a favorite perfume:

Knowing the fragrance

Perfume is packaged beautifully and comes in a range of fragrances. But it helps to have some basic knowledge of the make up of the fragrance and difference between an Eau de Cologne and Eau de Parfum. Each fragrance varies in regards to perfume oil content. Perfume oil in a high concentration means a higher price tag, longer lasting fragrance, and less solvent (often alcohol).

A strong fragrance option includes Eau de Parfum with its 20% fragrance, followed by Eau de Toilette with 10%, and Eau de Cologne with 2 to 5% aromatic compounds.

Avoid overdoing in the office

A strong and powerful perfume can be quite disruptive in a small office. It is certain to cause issues for those will allergies to fragrances. So, it helps to avoid using the strong perfumes in the office or similar confined spaces. A warm and rich scent is less noticed and offers a more appealing option in the place of work.

Spray the best areas of the body

Location and skin type can have a noticeable impact on a perfume. A fragrance can also vary when applied to clothing versus skin. A preferred place to apply the perfume is the pulse points, which includes the lower neck, wrists, behind the knees and inside of the elbow. Scent applied to any of these body parts means it is able to last longer. Also, by spraying the perfume in the proper area, you are able to be more subtle. This should mean there is less chance of disrupting the local environment.

How To Shop For The Best Perfumes

I found that there are five basic steps you need to consider when perfume shopping, so here they are for your perfume delight and delectation…

1) “This is going to take some time… “

Yes, perfume shopping is something that needs to be savoured, enjoyed and definitely not rushed. Set aside a good portion of time in the day for you to check out your local perfume department stores and smaller fragrance stores. Try to keep an open mind when you see a perfume that perhaps your friend has dismissed and don’t judge a perfume by its packaging. You’re going to have to rely on your nose for this shopping expedition, not your eyes.

2) Before you start perfume shopping, decide on your budget

Shopping for a fragrance can cost you as little as $50 or as much as $5000 (yes, there are perfumes with those kind of price tags!), so it is important to decide your budget before you even step foot in a perfume shop. Firstly, decide if your fragrance is going to be for everyday use, or just for special occasions? Are you looking for a celebrity name perfume, or simply a well-known brand? Which season is your perfume for? Sometimes it is nice to have a fresher and lighter perfume for the hotter summer months and perhaps a more subtle fragrance for autumn and winter.

3. Understand the different concentrations of perfume available

Perfumes come in three distinct categories which tell you about the concentration of the perfume oils in the bottle. The most concentrated, and therefore most expensive, perfume is known as ‘Parfum’ and you won’t need to use a lot of it, so it should last longer. Parfum has a concentration of between 15% and 22% of the fragrance oils. Next is ‘Eau de Parfum’ with a concentration of between 8% and 15% – quite a popular choice for many women. Lastly, and least expensive of the three concentrations, we have ‘Eau de Toilette’ or ‘Eau de Cologne’. With a concentration of between 3% and 8%, a spray of this perfume will give you and people around you just a hint of the scent to tantalize the nasal senses. Eau de Toilette is of course the least expensive option, but you many need to use more of it than the other more concentrated preparations.

4. Time to get your nose working

So you’re in the perfume store. It’s time to start smelling some fragrances by spraying some sampler bottles of each perfume onto those funny bits of white cardboard. They’re called ‘swatches’ – rather like colour swatches, but for smelling. Try to dry the perfume on the swatch before smelling (don’t touch), as the fragrance will change subtly as the minutes go by. After several minutes you will smell the ‘base notes’ rather than the initial ‘top notes’. Ah, now we’re getting technical. The fragrance’s base notes are the scents that will become more apparent as you wear perfume through the day. If you’re really up for being prepared, take a small container of coffee beans with you. Take a whiff of the beans to ‘reset’ your nose before smelling the next perfume – it’s a trick that works. Keep going and you should be able to narrow down your search to perhaps just three or four fragrances.

5. Time for some real skin

Hopefully you have now managed to select a handful of perfume candidates? Now is the time to spray a little on your wrist. Let it dry naturally without rubbing and have a whiff. Oh, by the way, top tip: Don’t wear any fragrance when you go perfume shopping for obvious reasons. It’s also wise to avoid eating spicy or hot food beforehand as your nose won’t be as sensitive as it usually is.

Hope you found some or all of these ‘perfume pointers’ enlightening. The best perfume for you is out there, and it will just take a little preparation and patience to find it! Happy perfume shopping!

Best Perfumes for Spring and Summer

Spring is here while summer is just around the corner. With temperatures rising, it is only right to make adjustments not only in the clothes you wear but also in the perfume you use. In general, the best selling perfumes for these seasons tend to be fresh and clean-smelling. Potential scents to choose from include light florals, citrus, fruity and ozonic smelling.

There are many popular perfume brands to choose from including Calvin Klein, Burberry and D&G, unless you prefer to make your own perfume. But if you are looking to buy one of the popular designer perfumes, then you might find it a bit challenging to make a choice from the wide variety of fragrances available on the market. To have an easier time, consider the following tips:

Tip #1: It is the Smell that Counts.

As a consumer, it is easy enough to buy one of the top perfumes just because the bottle looks gorgeous. At the end of the day, it’s what’s inside that really matters so don’t get swayed by the fancy packaging; let your nose be your guide.

Tip#2: Choose According to Your Personality

Buying a perfume is like buying clothes or shoes; you need to make sure it fits your personality. If you are bubbly and fun-loving, a citrus, fruity or light floral scent might just be the perfect choice as they are usually fresh and radiant. If your plan is to be mysterious, nothing beats a sensual oriental scent.

Tip #3: Make Yourself Memorable

When selecting a new perfume, you make sure to opt for one that make you memorable in a good way. Your perfume should actually be an extension of who you are. Having a signature perfume is a good way to achieve this aim, because being associated with a particular scent can make you stand out in some places.

Tip#4: Eau de Parfum vs Eau de Toilette

Perfumesare usually available in different concentrations and it would be best if you know which suits you and your lifestyle. If you prefer your perfume to last long on you, then eau de parfum is a better choice as it generally contains 10% to 15% fragrance essence. Meanwhile, eau de toilette usually contains only 5% to 10% fragrance essence so its scent does not last quite as long as the eau de parfum. Since it does tend to contain more essence, you can expect the eau de parfum to be a bit more expensive than the eau de toilette.

Tip#5: When to Buy and Where to Apply

If you are going shopping for new perfumes, the ideal time to do so is during the afternoon when the sense of smell is at its strongest. However, don’t leave home wearing a scent before going so your olfactory senses is not already overloaded.

The best spots to spray your perfume are on your pulse points, back of the neck and the back of your knees. A good way to trap the scent of your perfume to your body is to spray it on after your shower or bath, when your body is still a bit damp. The water slows down the evaporation rate of the perfume and help the fragrance linger longer on the body.

Knowing how to choose the right perfume no matter the season will stop you from making the costly mistake of buying perfumes that don’t work with your body chemistry. The five tips mentioned should help you make the right choices.

Best Perfume for Ladies

Perfume can be very well considered as a fashion accessory for women. With the right scent, you’ll be able exude elegance and luxury. That’s why most ladies do not leave out their signature fragrance when shopping for a whole new wardrobe.

Ladies use perfumes because they want to give off a certain scent that makes them happy and clean. It works the way scented candles amaze you. These fragrances imbue a pleasing vibe, setting a perfect mood for any occasion. And who wouldn’t to smell pleasing and enticing, right? All women should really stash away a bottle or two of this sweet-smelling fragrance, so you can just dab it on elusively when you need to smell great in an instant. But before you try and buy a perfume, you may want to know what is the best perfume for ladies. It’ll certainly save you the trouble of smelling various perfumes just so you’ll know what scent you’re looking for. So here are the best perfume for ladies you’d want to buy for yourself and your girl friends:

Eau De Parfums

Women’s fragrance has definitely gone a long way now since it was chemically engineered millenniums ago. It had many purposes, mainly for the royalties and surprisingly, during the Renaissance period when people didn’t bathe, Eau Extracts and Eau de Parfums were extensively manufactured.

Today, anybody can have complete access to these Eau de Parfums, Eau Extracts and the Eau de Toilette. Colognes and body sprays, which have lower concentrations of aromatic compounds, compared to the Eau de Parfum and Eau Extracts, are also getting very popular. Everyone these days sees to it that they smell good, sometimes for dating purposes, or simply wanting to feel good and beautiful all the time.

As women are the foremost consumers of fragrance, women’s fragrance has since boomed into a lot of varieties. From simple extracts from rose petals mixed with some chemicals essential oils, women’s fragrance have now blossomed into many varieties, with designer fragrances topping the line of quality Eau Extracts, Eau de Parfums, Eau de Toilette, colognes and body sprays. All of these now can be bought at any fragrance store.

Because of the rise in demand of fragrance consumption, and the insatiable need to feel good and beautiful with oneself, this was an opportunity now for business developers to tap a huge market that obsessed with scents. Fragrance stores have since popped anywhere. And these fragrance stores are becoming more innovative in that they do not only become retailers of designer fragrances, but that they themselves took it upon their own to know how to make women’s fragrances and sell them in sets out in the market, just like what designer fragrances do.

For instance, making colognes have become easy that anyone can be an entrepreneur out of it. They can just gather materials such as beakers, triple deodorized alcohol, stirring rods, essential oils, and a weighing scale; they can become not only entrepreneurs but alchemists themselves! And best of all, manufacturing these are just easy and only takes a certain amount of money to capitalize on should they begin a small business of it. When they get better at it, they can even be creative enough to pack it into sets, such as having the women’s fragrance in different concentrations in a set like a body sprays, Eau Extract and cologne packed into a set.

The Finishing Touch of Parfum Spray

Parfum spray bottle containing a lovely scent has the ability to take up permanent residence on a woman’s dressing table. In fact, for many women a beloved, timeless fragrance is the finishing touch to every outfit in their closet. Furthermore, the subtle fragrant scent left behind after a woman leaves a room makes her presence all the more memorable.

Whether a woman dresses for a casual meeting or a formal event a quick spritz from the parfum spray bottle is the perfect way to enhance the style of her ensemble. For example, one woman is planning to wear a black evening dress to an intimate dinner with her husband. A perfume with the fragrance of an exotic flower would be an intriguing addition. Another woman dressed in a white sundress for an afternoon picnic may choose a scent that mimics the fresh summer breezes all around her. A unique fragrance can be the attribute that gives a woman a pleasant yet mysterious allure.

Parfum spray also serves to freshen up or add fragrance to household items such as pillowcases. Allowing a fragrance to lightly mist onto a freshly laundered pillowcase can give it a pleasant scent for several days. Perhaps a woman wants to leave a remembrance with the special man in her life. A subtle spritz of scent on a handkerchief will be an enjoyable reminder of her that he carries away with him. A favorite fragrance serves as a sort of signature or lingering impression that a woman leaves behind.

The selection of parfum sprays is practically endless. The scent a woman chooses depends entirely on her tastes and preferences. Some scents are barely noticeable while others leave a strong impression. Many fragrances are fruity, fun mixtures and other types are reminiscent of beautiful, rare flowers. Perfumes are found in small amounts or in huge bottles. A woman can always run to the drugstore and purchase a fragrance for a few dollars. Or alternatively, someone can travel to a department store or boutique and pay close to one hundred dollars for a particular scent. Both the designer of the scent and where it is being sold are significant factors for a woman to take into consideration in her search for a fragrance to call her own.

The Best Parfum for Women

Parfum for women is today used to adorn a woman with some of the most delightful scents in nature. However, it was not always used in this way. The origin of perfume is as a cover-up for people who did not have the luxury of regular showers. Indeed, this is why scents have been designed to be as potent as possible. Modern-day perfumes largely consist of alcohol-based perfumes, which begin with a very strong scent and the powerful odor of alcohol. However, today we have access to better hygiene, so perfumes can serve a different purpose – that of adding a wonderful smell to clean skin. As such, a different perfume will better serve our needs.

There are two major problems with alcohol-based perfumes. One is that they are irritants to the skin. This is unnecessary as we are no longer in need of the masking power of alcohol. The other problem is that the reason that they smell so strongly at first is that they do not last – the alcohol evaporates the scent in a very short time period. In today’s world we would be better served by a perfume that lasts a longer time. Such a perfume is an oil-based perfume. An oil base holds the scent longer, and moisturizes the skin, also lengthening the duration of the scent. Further, even those with very sensitive skin will not suffer irritation from an oil-based perfume.

The irritation that can be caused by alcohol is a particular concern for those with tattoos. Factors in the environment, especially things that come in contact with our skin, can cause damage to or fading of a tattoo. Alcohol may contribute to fading of a tattoo and will definitely lead to drying out of the tattooed skin, which will certainly damage it. Tattoos are not only expensive and would cost more money to get fixed, but they are also reflective of the tattooed person’s identity – would you want to put something so important at risk? Choosing an oil-based perfume will protect your tattoo from damage. In fact, many oil bases moisturize the skin and restore it to health, protecting it from the elements and keeping your ink beautiful over time. Those without tattoos, as well, will benefit from healthier, more beautiful skin.

But must we sacrifice the strength of the scent of the perfume to gain this extra lasting and healing power? Not at all! Parfum for women, in contrast to other types of perfumes such as eau de toilette, has a very potent scent and high concentration of essential oils. It must contain a 15-30% concentration of essential oils or fragrances, making it the strongest smelling fragrance available. By choosing an oil-based parfum, you are gaining all of the potential benefits of perfume without suffering any of the potential harms.

Be sure to consider the base of any parfum for women before you buy it – it might smell nice at first, but will it last? Will it do more harm to your skin than good? Read the label and understand what you’ll be getting for your money before you make your purchase.
