The Art of Mastering Blowers

Why We Need Exhaust Fans

Exhaust fans are items in our home that we don’t really care about. We know that our exhaust fans are important and that they help to keep the air inside the room fresh and clean. That is all that we know about exhaust fans in our kitchen and bathroom.

There are actually a lot more things that exhaust fans do that are not visible to our eyes. Smoke is cleared in the kitchen and the smell of food is easily taken away because the exhaust fan is working. Have you ever imagined what your kitchen would look like if there was no exhaust fan.

If steam does not escape from your kitchen, it will condense on your cupboards and walls leaving moisture that encourages the growth of mold and mildew. Another thing that you will observe is that you kitchen will start to smell of different kinds of food and the smoke and oil will begin to stain your walls. This is not something that we have imagined not having an exhaust fan in the kitchen. There are more things to observe than these. Soon the vegetables that are out like your potatoes, onions, etc. will start rotting quickly due to the presence of too much moisture in the air.

Similarly, your fan exhaust does not only take the odor away. With constant use of water, the bathroom will have more humidity. It can go throughout your house and damage wood work. Parts of your home will have fungus and mildew growth.

And this is why bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans are very important. Make sure that your exhaust fan ducts are placed outside the house. There will be a moisture pool inside if the duct is blocked or if the duct does not terminate outside the outside. Water damage can happen to the surrounding areas. The effect of a bathroom exhaust fan that des not work includes the growth of molds on your walls, peeling paint or wallpaper, marks of moisture on your roof and tiles, frost on your windows rust on your showers head and other fixtures made of metal.

Your garage also needs an exhaust fan. Garage exhaust fans are very important although they are not used as frequently as the fans in your kitchen and bathroom. In our garages, we store many things together with our car. If you keep items in the garage like textiles and wood, then if there is moisture, molds will be encouraged to grow in them. If these spores are breathed in, then it can lead to health problems. Your children can get sick with as asthma or allergies and adults will get fungal infection. In order to prevent its growth, it is good to install an exhaust fan in our garage as well.
